Attwood I have been looking at buying a Saab 9-3 recently and have heard only good reviews. As far as you know was it that specific variant/age that was problematic ?

Best and worst by the same token. Like a highly strung racehorse, superb when in trim but incredibly unreliable, so many new parts within the 3 year warranty, it was like a new car.
Sold it to a mate who knew it’s history and insisted on buying it still.
Got a frustrating 5 years out of it and agreed, a great drive but always breaking down
No wonder Saab went bust

Another contender of sorts was a Triumph Stag, constant maintenance on that fucker; have to be especially be careful they never overheat as it fucks the cylinder heads well and truly!
A car that was a masterpiece in design but a massive lemon on production, they should have gone with the Rover V8 engine……
Was a lovely looking car and the pur of the V8 was second to none, even today I can recognise that distinctive sound of the Stag, nice car to drive as well.

Oh god yes.
A friend of mine one and it would blow a random fuse any time he hit the horn (which was a lot as he was a pretty angry driver). If the heating was on it would blow more.
It was an absolute rust bucket too and totally gutless. As an added bonus the windscreen had got smashed by the previous owner and every time he put the fan on it would spit glass fragments at you at random intervals. You could could hear them rattling off the fan blades.

Hired a car today turned up and was allocated a fucking re adult Captur, pure shit.
By far the worst car I’ve driven. It’s shaped like a toblerone ffs
It baffles me that people spend many thousands of their hard earned on these

My previous two cars are supposed to have been the pinnacle of reliability, yet not with me. 55 plate Golf 1.6 FSi - batter would die pretty much overnight. Local garage replaced various bits under the warranty but kept happening. VW garage looked at it and diagnosed it was a known issue with the head unit which needed an upgrade - an upgrade that cost more than I paid for the car. So that was traded in (bizarrely, I traded it at a dealer about 80 miles away, yet that Golf is now owned by someone round the corner from where I live - and the wanker cut me up on the Blackwall tunnel approach the other week)
Traded it in for a 10 plate Honda Civic 1.8 VTEC Si - always loved the look of that particular Mk, so was happy to pick up one with decent mileage at a nice price. In fairness, nothing ever went wrong with the car and it ran like a dream - but the seats weren’t fully adjustable, particularly in regards to back support, so it was really uncomfortable to drive. Did a weekend in Wales and was in bits by the time we got there.
That went earlier this year and now have a Mazda 3 2.0 Sport Nav, which I love

Not "mine" but once went racetracking at Castle Combe in a Subaru. Cannot recall the model name.
Reached well over 100mph.Quickly. it was a fast machine, for a "roadcar"
But handling? Dreadful. I was glad to get out alive.. came 3rd on the day (test) but simply agreed: not coming back until you have cars that can navigate corners!

My wife had a Citroen AX she inherited. It was a truly awful piece of junk. Always trying to fix something on it and it had only done 20k miles. She hit a central reservation at low speed and the thing folded up. At least that was the end of it.

The fuse went in my lawn mower plug recently. One of those sealed fuckers.
I just cut the end off and stuck a household plug on it.
Job done.

No there is something far worse than that. Scissors that come in a packet so.hard to.undo that you need a pair of scissors for the job. Aaaaarrrrrggghhhhhh
